Star Wars: Galactic Racer – High-Speed Racing in the Outer Rim
The last Star Wars racing game many players remember dates back to the early 2000s, so Star Wars: Galactic Racer arrives with a lot to prove. It is developed by Fuse Games, a studio founded by former Criterion Games leaders, and published by Secret Mode in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
The Galactic League
The story is set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. With the Empire gone, an unsanctioned racing circuit called the Galactic League has grown up in the Outer Rim. Players take the role of a pilot known as Shade, chasing glory and revenge against champion Kestar Bool.
Vehicles and Tracks
Racers can pilot podracers, landspeeders, speeder bikes and skim speeders, a new vehicle type created for the game. Announced locations include Tatooine, Jakku, Ando Prime and the new planet Lantaana, with branching routes and risk-and-reward choices along the way.
Aggressive Racing
This is not a gentle racer. Players can slam, shunt and take down rivals, and the developers describe a sport where the greater the risk, the greater the reward. Vehicle customization lets players shape their ride to their own style.
Modes and Editions
The game offers a story-driven campaign, multiplayer with up to 12 players and an Arcade section. It launches on 6 October 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Standard, Deluxe and Collector's editions.
Final Thoughts
Star Wars: Galactic Racer mixes familiar locations with a fresh racing structure. For fans of speed, takedowns and the Star Wars galaxy, it could be the racing game they have been waiting for.
